Designed by Blomist in partnership with renowned stylist / author, Buranchi Ceramic Vase, Hilary Robertson, this tall, tapered ceramic vase is hand-crafted in small batches and slip cast by Birch Lane, an artificial designer and ceramist. The straight shape is matte and well weighted with a narrow neck, which is ideal for forcing long, single branches, wild dry grasses, faux amaranthus, or forced branches.

About Mike Shamda


Originally from Japan, Michiko Shmada studied at Parsons School of Design and developed an interest in craftsmanship. After graduation, he worked for several years as a handheld designer for a ceramic manufacturer in New York until he jumped in and began producing his own line of handmade ceramics. Since 2009, Michiko has been working at her Brooklyn studio specializing in slip cast ceramics. Simple, practical, beautiful and golden, Machiko's work is carefully crafted in small batches. In a world where so many things are widely crafted and disposable, Mikio looks at craftsmanship with appreciation, and from original models to finished pieces - completely by hand.
